"Nadia Lichtig’s paintings, installations, sound pieces and textworks are based on subtle and complex processes of translation and transference. Resonating spaces that one can sensually experience arise that are readable on different levels. At the first glance, Lichtig’s Pictures of Nothing remind one almost of the light-flooded, pictorial spaces of William Turner, Instead, physical objects are isolated, one sees compositionally carefully distributed lines and linear groupings based on a form of graphic notation, the transference of song texts into a visual structure."

Mit Nadia Lichtig wird im RAUM FÜR ZWECKFREIHEIT das erste Mal eine Installation realisiert, die Malerei zeigt. In Nadia Lichtigs multimedialer Kunst ist sie ein zentraler Gegenstand. Dabei arbeitet sie an der Entgrenzung des Mediums und thematisiert die physische Wahrnehmung – mit der Aufspaltung natürlichen Lichts durch Prismen im öffentlichen Raum, der Installation von Bildern in der Natur oder bis zu 20 Meter langen Malereien, die von einem Flugzeug gezogen werden. Im Ausstellungsraum werden diese durch Dokumentationen und akustische Arbeiten ergänzt, die eigene Assoziationsfelder entstehen lassen.
